Ser Gregor Clegane makes his first appearance of season 2 in episode 4, Garden of Bones, as we are introduced to the brutal life at Harrenhal. Tyrion’s plots lands him in first place, but the Baratheon brothers are proving a competitive force. Daenerys makes her first appearance on the Leaderboard, however her position in this new city remains uncertain.

Robb Stark defeats the Lannister forces on the field led by his direwolf Grey Wind. Robb’s bannerman Roose Bolton expresses concern about the amount of prisoners and suggest they could be flayed for information as his ancestors once had. Robb refuses fearing the Lannisters will use any excuse to mistreatment his sisters. He also come across Talisa, a woman tending to soldiers on both sides of the conflict. She challenges Robb on his reasons for war and his lack of a plan as to what he would do should he manage to depose Joffrey. Robb is intrigued by the woman who reveals that she hails from across the narrow sea, the city of Volantis.

Roose Bolton earns 3 Victory points for the battle with Lannister forces.
In King’s Landing Lancel reads out an exaggerated account of the battle claiming the northmen turned to wolves and ate their enemies. Joffrey demands Sansa answer for her brother’s crimes. He has Meryn Trant beat and strip her in a humiliating fashion for all the court to see. The spectacle is interrupted by Tyrion, acting Hand of the King, who is appalled by the display. He reminds Joffrey that Sansa is to be his Queen as he should have some concern for her her honor. Sandor “The Hound,” removes his cloak to allow the girl to cover herself. As Tyrion leads out the Lady Sansa he asks her to if she wants an end to her engagement, Sansa responds with iron courtesy ”I am loyal to King Joffrey, my one true love.” Tyrion considers that she may outlive them all.

Meryn Trant receives 1 Wound point for his brutal treatment of Sansa
Bronn suggests that Joffrey may be “backed up.” Having Sansa stripped before the court betrays some hint of sexual frustration. Tyrion connives to have 2 of Littlefinger’s prostitutes, one of whom is Ros, waiting in the King’s bedroom. If Tyrion had hoped to quell Joffrey’s masochistic tendencies it’s soon revealed to be for not. Joffrey takes pleasure in torturing the women and watching them torture each other.
Joffrey Baratheon earns 1 Wound point for his torture of the prostitutes.
Ros receives -1 Wound point for her abuse at Joffrey’s behest.
Littlefinger arrives at Renly’s camp and it’s clear he’s not exactly welcome. Renly makes it known that he does not trust Littlefinger, having known him on the small council for years, but Littlefinger suggests that he could face a siege at King’s Landing or open gates. He also speaks to Margaery asking pointed questions about her relationship with Renly and her brother’s. Margaery notes that as a King’s Guard her brother’s place is at the King’s side and makes it clear that she is loyal to Renly as both her husband and her King.
Loras Tyrell earns 3 Honors points for his position in Renly’s Kingsguard.
Kovarro, Daenerys’ bloodrider returns riding a new horse. He explains it was a gift to him from the Thirteen of Qarth. They have invited Daenerys to their ancient city after hearing tales of her dragons. She asks Jorah what he knows of this city, but he only knows the desert around their walls is known as the Garden Of Bones. So named because each time the the city shuts its gates on a traveler the garden grows.
Kovarro earns 3 Alliance points for his gift and invitation from the Thirteen.
Arya, Hot Pie, and Gendry are brought to Harrenhal, a castle legendary for its destruction at the hands of the Targaryen dragons during their conquest of Westeros. They walk into a scene of misery, the captives are caged merely waiting their turn to be tortured to death. As Arya tries to sleep she list the names of her enemies, “Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound.”
In the Stormlands Littlefinger finds his way to Catelyn’s tent she angrily confronts him for his betrayal of Ned and is enraged when he offers that this could be their chance to be together. She tells him to leave, but he tempts her with the hope of reuniting with her daughters. He tells her the Lannisters will trade the girls for Ser Jaime. Cat knows her son will never agree to those terms, but Littlefinger notes he brought them to her not Robb. He presents her with a token of good faith, the bones of her husband Eddard Stark and takes his leave. Cat allows herself a moment to grieve her lost love, Ned.
Ser Amory Lorch wakes Arya and her fellow captives and she sees the knight Gregor Clegane known to some as “The Mountain that rides.” Each day he chooses a captive to be given to The Tickler for questioning. The Tickler brutally tortures his victim to death while the other captives look on helpless. That night Arya watches as Polliver kicks an old woman begging for food and adds him to her list.
The Tickler earns 1 Morghulis point for torturing the villager to death.
The Baratheon brothers meet on horseback, their retinues in tow. The two trade barbed insults while Cat seeks desperately to find some peace between them. Her efforts earn her only rebuke from Stannis who warns that all who deny his claim to the throne are his enemies. Renly remains unperturbed and the brothers part knowing they will face each other on the field come dawn.

Daenerys and what remains of her Khalasar arrive at the gates of Qarth. The Thirteen greet her with cool courtesy and ask to see the dragons. When Daenerys asks for entrance to the city first the Spice King denies her request. She responds with angry threats which the thirteen merely turn their backs on. All but one, Xaro Xoan Daxos, who slices his hand spilling his blood on the sand invoking “Sumai” vouching for her and her people. And with that the gates are opened and Daenerys’ Khalasar is ushered inside.

At Harrenhal Gendry is selected for torture. The Tickler asks him about the whereabouts of Beric Dondarrion, but they are interrupted but the surprise arrival of Lord Tywin Lannister. He is not pleased by the state of the castle nor by the wanton death and torture of the villagers whose skills might be useful. He asks Gendry if he has a trade, when Gendry says he was an armorer, Tywin has him released. Arya is staring at Polliver who still carries her Needle in his sword belt, he threatens her drawing Tywin’s attention. He quickly deduces she’s a girl and asks that she be made his cupbearer.

In King’s Landing Lancel Lannister appears at Tyrion’s door with Cersei’s order to release Pycelle. Lancel boast of his recent knighthood and seems to take pleasure in condescending the Acting Hand. Tyrion deduces he and Cersei are having an affair and quickly turns the tables, threatening to inform Joffrey. Lancel pleads Tyrion for mercy which he is all too willing to grant. Provided Lancel now inform him of Cersei’s plans and plots.
Lancel Lannister earns 3 Honors points for being appointed a Knight and 3 Alliance points for agreeing to become Tyrion’s spy.

Cersei Lannister receives -3 Betrayal points Lancel informing on her.
Aboard his ship Stannis summons Davos. The two discuss Davos’ missing fingertips removed by Stannis years before. During Robert’s Rebellion the Tyrell’s laid siege to the castle Storm’s End starving Stannis and his men, but Davos, a smuggler, found a way to bring in a ship of foodstuffs for the men. As thanks Stannis made him a Knight and gave him lands, and as punishment for his years of smuggling he removed four fingers.Tonight however Stannis once again seeks a smuggler.
Davos rows Melisandre into the bowels of Storm’s End. She removes her robe to reveal a massively pregnant belly. Then before Davos’ astonished eyes she lays on the ground and proceeds to give birth to a creature made of shadow.
Melisandre earns 1 Magic point for birthing Stannis’ shadow son.
