Welcome to the first installment in the Fantasy League of Thrones!
The season one premier, Winter Is Coming opens with a rare look at the elusive White Walkers. Ned Stark pulls into the lead, though, don’t count out the Targaryens who are right at his heels. While poor young Bran Stark falls to last place. But this is only the first of many episodes to come and the Game Of Thrones is above all unpredictable.

The series opens with our first look at the true threat to Westeros, the White Walkers. In the frozen north beyond the Wall the mysterious White Walkers attack a group of Brothers from the Night’s Watch, defenders of the realms of men. The lone survivor of the fray, Will, deserts his brothers and heads south only to be caught by the Starks.
The White Walkers receive 3 Victory points for their defeat of the Night’s Watch brothers.
The Stark family have controlled the North since men came to Westeros and among their duties is punishing deserters from the Night’s Watch. This falls upon Stark patriarch Eddard Stark. He brings his sons; Robb, Jon, and young Bran to attend the execution so that they may understand that this duty may one day fall to them. As they head home to the great castle of Winterfell they come upon 5 Direwolf pups in the snow. As the Direwolf is the sigil of House Stark it is decided the pups will go to each of Eddard’s “true born” children. His bastard son, Jon Snow, finds a 6th albino pup to keep for himself.
Eddard “Ned” Stark receives 1 Morghulis point for his execution of the deserter, Will.
Far to the South in the capital of King’s Landing the Hand of the King, Jon Arryn is dead. King Robert and his court travel to Winterfell to so that the King may ask his old friend “Ned” Stark to fill the position left vacant by the man they both looked at as a father. But that is not his only offer, he also proposes a marriage alliance between the two houses, Robert’s son and heir, Joffrey, to Ned’s eldest daughter, Sansa. Ned is hesitant to accept knowing it would mean leaving the North for the political intrigues of King’s Landing. Then his wife Catelyn receives a letter from her sister Lysa Arryn, wife to the deceased Jon Arryn.
Lysa warns that her husband was murdered by none other than the Lannisters, family of Robert’s wife and Queen, and that the King himself is in danger. Ned is decided, he must accept Robert’s offer and travel to the capital to learn the truth of Jon Arryn’s death.
Eddard “Ned” Stark receives 3 Honors points for his new position as Hand of the King and 3 Alliance points for the marriage arrangement of Sansa to Prince Joffrey.
Robert Baratheon receives 3 Alliance points for the marriage arrangement made between he and Ned.
In the free city of Pentos the last of the Targaryens, former rulers of Westeros before Robert’s Rebellion, siblings Daenerys and Viserys have made an Alliance with the Dothraki Horse Lords with the help of the influential Magister Illyrio. Daenerys will marry Khal Drogo and in return the Khal will gift Viserys with 40,000 Dothraki warriors to help him reclaim the Iron Throne of Westeros. At the wedding feast Ser Jorah Mormont, and exiled Knight from Westeros, attends and professes loyalty to the “true King of Westeros.” He offers Daenerys a gift of Books about their homeland, but by far the most elaborate gift comes from Illyrio, three Dragon Eggs hardened to stone by the ages.
Daenerys Targaryen earns 3 Alliance points for her marriage to Khal Drogo and 3 Honors points for her new title as Khaleesi.
Viserys Targaryen earns 6 Alliance points for his arrangement with the Dothraki and the allegiance of Jorah.
Jorah Mormont earns 3 Alliance points for his loyalty to Viserys.
Khal Drogo earns 3 Alliance points for his marriage arrangement with the Targaryens.
Illyrio Mopatis earns 3 Alliance points for negotiating the marriage pact between the Dothraki and the Targaryens.
While Ned and Robert are out hunting with the older boys, young Brandon Stark climbs the walls of Winterfell as he’s done a thousand times before, but while scaling a broken tower he hears a noise. He discovers Queen Cersei Lannister having sex with Ser Jaime Lannister. In addition to being her twin brother, Ser Jaime is also a member of the King’s Guard, an elite force of Knights sworn to protect the King. Bran is quickly grabbed by Jaime who looks back to his sister saying, “The things I do for Love.” before throwing Bran from the tower window.
Jaime Lannister earns 1 Wound point for injuring Bran.
Bran Stark receives -1 Wounded point for his “fall.”
Robert Baratheon receives -3 Betrayal points for the betrayal of his wife and sworn guard.
